Community Information Session for Proposed Tannery Commons Development

Goal is to create positive impact for the community by fostering economic growth and preserving the area’s historic charm

Ballston Spa, NY, May 13, 2025 – Conifer Realty, a leader in high-quality, housing development and management, is pleased to announce a community information session regarding its proposed development at the site of the former American Hide Leather Haight Co. Tannery, located at 125 Bath Street in the heart of Ballston Spa. This important redevelopment project aims to revitalize a historically significant area, bring new life to the village, and contribute to a vibrant and sustainable future for the community.

The new community, which will be named Tannery Commons, will include 168 new apartment homes in three buildings, with an additional fourth building dedicated to community amenities – all designed to complement the area’s historic aesthetic. The homes will consist of one, two, and three-bedroom units, designed with energy-efficient features to meet LEED v4.1 Residential Silver standards. In addition, the project will include 8,400 square feet of commercial space, providing both residential and business opportunities that will enhance the local economy and contribute to the tax base.

Conifer is committed to listening to the concerns and ideas of local residents, recognizing that this project represents one of the most significant developments in the village in the last century. As such, the company is holding a community information session to share preliminary development concepts and gather valuable feedback from the community.
